At Skyway House Treatment & Detox Center, our relationship with our clients lasts far beyond their time in treatment. Our Alumni Program is an opportunity for them to benefit from long-term, supportive relationships that can foster lasting recovery.
The activities that are a part of the Alumni Program include:
- Weekly Service Opportunities. Alumni and current clients come together to serve meals to the homeless, as well as to participate in other community-based service activities.
- Monthly Alumni Speaker Meeting and Dinners. Held on the last Wednesday of the month, alumni are invited to join current clients in our facilities to enjoy a delicious meal, listen to an alumni speaker, and benefit from fellowship with one another.
- Annual Alumni BBQ. This event is for alumni, clients, staff members, and families. It is an opportunity to come together and enjoy spending time with others who have gone through similar experiences, eliciting a sense of comradery and hope, both of which are important components of the ongoing healing journey. We encourage anyone who has graduated from our programs to join us for a BBQ dinner, games, and speaker meetings.
- Continuing Care Group. Meeting weekly, this group is peer-led and counselor-facilitated. Fellowship and social support are imperative in helping individuals succeed in their recovery journeys. Alumni are always invited to participate in these meetings, at absolutely no cost. They serve as another occasion to connect with people who are invested in their success.
We are here as a resource, and love to hear from our Alumni! If you are a Skyway House Treatment & Detox Center Alumni and would like to share your story at an upcoming event, or just want to check-in to say hello, please call us at 530-898-8326!
